John Madler (Nick Cassavetes) is an upandcoming, volatile, struggling artist who believes in the liberty of artistic expression, forms a strong attraction to Allison McKenzie (Brenda Bakke) a well-off young woman from Bel Air who is striving for an escape from her life.
